The internship brought eight students who were interested in expanding their knowledge within the HVAC industry. The program focused on covering multiple facets of the business from sales, marketing, product development, on site assessments, and even, soft skill development.
In addition to hands-on tasks, the interns set up social networking opportunities with WAI manufacturing partners ASHRAE and Raypak, which allowed them to gain exposure to big name products within the industry.
Company culture was an important component that WAI was eager to incorporate into the program. The staff enjoyed various outings with the interns, strengthening bonds and developing team camaraderie. WAI hosted outings to baseball games, bowling nights, and lakeside barbecues.
At the end of the program, the interns set up a lunch presentation at the Houston Club for the owners of WAI. Recounting their experience, the students shared everything from their day-to-day operations to their suggested improvements for the internship program.
WAI was honored to have these students engage, learn, as well as offer their contributions to the company. The objective of this program was to give interns the ability to understand the products, the clientele, and be involved in the strategizing that makes a successful business. Each student exceeded all expectations and their exceptional work makes WAI excited for the next internship program.
